Yeffri J. Salazar

CTO · Electronics Engineer · Robotics, IoT & Tech Education

For more than 10 years I've built hardware products end to end: from the PCB schematic to firmware, backend and the deployed product. Two-time CTO, designer of boards for space applications, and leader of the Arduino Guatemala community. My mission is to bring technology to the people who need it most, even schools without internet.

Conversational 3D avatar

A 3D robot head you talk to by voice: it listens with Whisper, answers with a vision model that can see your camera or the images you share, and lip-syncs to Spanish speech. It runs in the browser, including on phones, and its personality can be changed from the interface.

Judging panel for events

Web platform for scoring projects at hackathons and events with multiple judges: weighted criteria, a unique link per judge, a 0–100 ranking, and feedback for each team without exposing scores. Runs for free on Cloudflare Workers with a D1 database, and the browser never receives any keys.

Tinimit: cloud-free medical AI

Chat-based medical guidance for remote villages without cell coverage. An ESP32 node with a LoRa radio gives the village its own WiFi, and queries travel compressed to a hub where a medical model (MedPsy-4B) runs 100% locally. Data never leaves the community, and answers in K'iche' are validated by the community itself.

Kemon Q'ayis

A flora encyclopedia for a school. Visitors scan a QR code or NFC tag next to each tree to open its profile, with its scientific name and Maya meaning. ESP32 stations monitor the environment in real time. Everything runs on the local network, no internet needed.

Cubot KINGKONG 11 rear screen

Reverse engineering of the 360×360 rear panel on this Android 15 phone. I found it isn't an Android display but an RGB565 framebuffer drawn through JNI, and managed to turn it on and off and show custom text without root, using a Python tool and an app built without Android Studio. Includes a retrospective on what worked and what didn't.

Indra / IndraJS: circuit puzzle

Educational electronics game for 6- to 8-year-olds who can't read yet: you understand it by seeing, not reading. A snake stands for the current, and the player guides it through a battery, resistor, capacitor and switch until the LED lights up. Includes a shop, progression, an in-game economy and a level editor. It started as a Godot 4.6 prototype and evolved into Phaser.
